What you'll be doing

Provide secure compassionate person centred care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve quality care outcomes for patients and clients.

About Ivanhoe

Ivanhoe is a small, rural town in far west NSW, situated between the iconic Darling and Lachlan rivers. Located in the heart of the Aussie Outback, it boasts a remarkable natural landscape which is home to a wide range of native wildlife including kangaroos and emus. Black swans and pelicans have also been known to flock to the region when there's been rain.

Ivanhoe is just a short,



2-hour drive away from the famous Mungo National Park and world heritage listed Willandra Lakes known for their natural beauty and cultural significance. Life in Ivanhoe is defined by peace and tranquillity, supporting balance and wellbeing.

About the Far West LHD

How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

- Current nursing/midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Willingness and capacity to complete postgraduate or minimum Graduate Certificate qualification in Critical Care / Emergency Care within two years of commencement of position.
- Demonstrated application of professional and ethical boundaries to the delivery of patient care in the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualised person centred care patient care.
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait, Islander patients and families and employees to enhance health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.




- Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues
- Current Driver's Licence and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances. Willingness and ability to undertake nursing duties in a remote facility (for 12 weeks per annum) or another service for the maintenance of service delivery.
