Henschke Catholic Primary School caters for K-6 Students and is the largest Co‑Education Catholic Primary school in Wagga Wagga. Located on top of the hill in Bourke Street, we are proud of our strong traditions and foundations. We have grown from modest beginnings to our current enrolment of just under 600 students and have many plans for the future development and growth of our school.

Your New Role
Classroom and learning support (CLS) is a dedicated service that provides a range of resources and assistance to students with disabilities and additional learning needs. It aims to create an inclusive learning environment where all students can reach their full potential.
CLS staff work closely with classroom teachers to identify and address students’ needs, providing tailored support and strategies. This may include direct instruction, small group work, assistive technology, and behaviour management techniques. CLS also offers professional development to teachers, helping them implement effective inclusive practices.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist teachers and students in and outside the Learning Spaces
- Assist with the supervision of small groups and/or individual students on activities, as directed by the teacher
- Undertake specific tasks with individuals or small groups of students under the guidance of the teacher
- Toileting and supervising students during break times (on a shared roster)
- Support the students and/or teachers in the use of technology
- Assist students with physical, medical or mobility challenges

Essential Criteria
- Teaching Assistant experience desired
- How you model the Catholic Faith
- A clear understanding of how you believe children best learn and how you could support this in your everyday practice
- An understanding of working and supporting teachers and students in a contemporary learning classroom
- Evidence of technological skills
- Team orientated with the ability to work with others
- Other qualities or skills that you could bring to our School
- Those undertaking undergraduate study in education are encouraged to apply
- NSW Working with Children Check
- Successful Candidate to undertake a National Criminal History Check
- Accreditation for Support Staff in a Catholic School (Category A, Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools, Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga) or working towards Accreditation.
