You will oversee a small, multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting people who use amphetamine‑type substances (ATS) across the Hastings Macleay region, with a key focus on the Kempsey area.
The Stimulant Treatment Program delivers a range of targeted interventions, including individual counselling, group programmes, peer worker support, and health checks for individuals seeking to better understand the effects of their stimulant use. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective coordination, review, and ongoing improvement of all programme activities.
Additionally, you will provide leadership and support to the Aboriginal Health workforce within the Drug and Alcohol team, fostering culturally safe, person‑centred care and strengthening partnerships with community and stakeholders.

You bring tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or possess equivalent experience gained through a combination of study and hands‑on work. You approach people with drug and alcohol concerns with empathy and without judgement, creating a safe and supportive setting for clients and colleagues. Your high‑level leadership, communication and interpersonal skills enable you to consult, negotiate and build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You are organised, reliable and able to manage time effectively, ensuring deadlines and service targets are consistently met.
You work confidently both independently and as part of a high‑performing team, with the ability to motivate, support and coordinate staff. You have a strong understanding of contemporary drug and alcohol treatment practices, including harm‑reduction principles, and you are comfortable using a range of software programmes for documentation, communication and data management. A current driver’s licence and the ability to travel are essential for success in this role.
