About Us
Omen Albert Park is a modern Australian fine-dining restaurant that celebrates seasonality, creativity and exceptional guest experiences. We champion premium local produce and refined contemporary technique. We are seeking an experienced Head Chef and a separate Sommelier/Bartender with Michelin-level or hatted restaurant experience to lead our kitchen and elevate the culinary identity of Omen.

The Role

We're looking for a hands-on, innovative Head Chef with a strong fine-dining background and proven leadership capability. You will manage all kitchen operations, lead modern menu development, and cultivate a motivated, professional team culture.

In addition, we are looking for a sommelier/bartender with strong knowledge and experience in wines.

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 package plus superannuation
Review: 3-month performance review with a salary increase offered on mutually agreed terms

What You'll Do

- Design and execute seasonal menus showcasing modern Australian cuisine

- Bring Michelin-level or hatted standards of technique, flavour and presentation

- Lead, train and inspire a high-performing kitchen team

- Oversee daily kitchen operations, prep systems, and service execution

- Manage ordering, stock control, supplier relationships and food GP

- Maintain detailed recipes, plating systems and portion consistency

- Uphold all food safety, hygiene and OH&S; compliance

- Work closely with FOH leadership to deliver seamless, world-class service

- Strong knowledge and experience in wines.

Skills & Experience Needed





- Michelin-level, hatted or equivalent fine-dining experience is essential

- Candidates must have experience in Michelin starred restaurants, hat award venues, top 50 restaurants, or high-end fine dining establishments

- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef and a Sommelier/Bartender in a top-tier venue

- Minimum 5+ years of experience required

- Solid understanding of modern Australian cuisine, premium produce and contemporary techniques

- Excellent leadership, communication and team development skills

- Ability to operate a high-performance kitchen with precision and organisation

- Strong competency in food costing, GP control, stock management and labour management

- Commitment to building a respectful, positive and disciplined kitchen culture

- High standards of cleanliness, structure and operational consistency

- Culinary qualifications or equivalent high-level experience preferred
