What You’ll Do

- Assist with the inspection, servicing and repair of Council’s trucks, graders, loaders and other heavy plant and equipment
- Learn to diagnose mechanical faults and perform routine maintenance
- Safely use hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment




- Take part in both on‑the‑job and formal off‑the‑job training

What We’re Looking For

- Has completed a minimum of Year 10 (pre‑apprenticeship or previous mechanical exposure will be highly regarded but not essential)
- Genuinely interested in mechanics and enjoys hands‑on problem solving
- Committed to learning and completing the apprenticeship qualification
- Safety conscious with an understanding of safe work habits and the importance of following procedures
- Reliable, responsible and a good communicator who works well in a team; physically capable of performing manual work and working in a workshop environment

- Assessment Centre – 2 December 2025
- Reference Checks commence – 8 December 2025
- Pre‑employment medicals – 8 & 9 December 2025
- Employment Offers – Week of 15 December 2025
- Start date – 2 February 2026

Weekly wage is dependent on age and will range from $482.00 for a 15‑year‑old to $827.40 for an 18‑year‑old.
