About Our Role
Permanent, full-time shift position based at Simplot Devonport (noting the role will commence in a Mon-Fri day work arrangement until site familiarisation is completed). Opportunity to work on a unique array of food processing fixed-plant & equipment.
Base hourly rate of $ (for those candidates who hold both Cert III Electrotech + Cert III Instrumentation & Control)
Electrical Licence Allowance $ per week + Tool Allowance $ per week
Here at Simplot Devonport we're seeking applicants for the full-time, permanent position of Maintenance Electrician to join our highly skilled Maintenance team. Employing over 300 Tasmanians, Simplot Devonport is the last processor of scale of frozen vegetables in Australia, and has a proud history in the local community since.
Simplot Devonport processes locally grown peas, beans, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, onions and brussel sprouts – we are the home of Australia's favourite foods!
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Area Manager - Maintenance the Maintenance Electrician will perform planned, scheduled and breakdown electrical activities on a wide range of fixed plant and equipment in alignment with the site's Maintenance & Production schedules that support optimisation of plant reliability, improvements related to employee safety, and site continuous improvement activities.
Commencing on a Monday to Friday day work schedule it will transition into a shift-based position inclusive of roster blocks based on a 12 hour roster upon completion of site familiarisation & competency assessment.
Identify faults and perform breakdown repairs to minimise downtime and micro-stops caused by production machinery and equipment
Inspect, test and maintain machinery & equipment in production areas + wider plant buildings & facilities
Work with PLC and electronically controlled system diagnostics, fault finding, programming and connections
Perform general plant and building maintenance work
Undertake specific project work upon request
Perform assigned tasks in accordance with all Simplot Safety, Health & Wellbeing + Environmental policies & procedures
Utilise MEX CMMS to update work orders, search asset history and advise on any maintenance trends or opportunity for improvement and innovation
Take part in continuous improvement (CI) activities
About You
Possess a 100% commitment to health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace
Hold a Cert III Electrotechnology (mandatory) + Cert III Instrumentation (advantageous)
Demonstrated diagnostic, fault finding and troubleshooting skills
Electrical related manufacturing / FMCG experience is advantageous
Experience in safety & quality systems and procedures
Ability to read and interpret schematics
Sound judgment and decision making ability
Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills in addition to time management skills
Intermediate user of CMMS software + MS Windows OS
Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical screening (incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening)
