Support Worker Opportunity – Be Valued, Be Heard, Be Supported

We are currently seeking a Support Worker in Moorebank to assist a participant with high-functioning ASD and provide ongoing support to their family. As someone who About the Role
Location: Moorebank

Shifts:

- 2 x per week – 2-hour domestic assistance shifts
- Saturday (fortnightly): Transport participant to a psychologist appointment in Campbelltown and engage another child in an activity during that time
- Alternate Saturdays: Swimming pool support for mobility and physical wellbeing

This is a family household with children, so experience supporting young participants in a home environment is ideal.

Requirements

- A current Police Check
- A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in support work
- Certificate III in Disability (or equivalent qualification)
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Reliable, registered, and insured vehicle
- Demonstrated experience supporting clients with mental health needs, complex Trauma and verbal aggression or challenging behaviours.
- Experience and capabilities in implementing Restrictive Practices + behaviour support plans
- Experience in trauma-informed care
- Confident working with complex autism support needs

About the Role:

In this role,



you will:

- Providing domestic assistance
- Transporting participants safely using your own reliable vehicle
- Supporting children in everyday routines and community activities
- Engaging in calm, friendly, and supportive interactions
- Assisting with mobility and wellbeing activities
- Supporting a client with mental health needs
- Support clients in achieving independence and personal goals.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with clients and their families.
- Use your skills and experience to make informed decisions on the job.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Enjoy the balance of working autonomously while being part of a close-knit team

What We’re Looking For:

- 2–3+ years’ experience supporting complex clients and/or children
- Experience in trauma-informed care
- Confident working with complex autism support needs
- Solid communication skills and ability to build genuine rapport
- Comfortable with light conversation and daily engagement
- A reliable, organised worker who can commit to short, consistent shifts
- Comfortable driving participants as part of support duties
- Access to a reliable vehicle

Job Type: Subcontract

Pay: $40.00 – $43.00 per hour
