ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Salary: $72,000 – $82,000 per annum + overtime + superannuation
ELQUIP
Elquip is an Australian engineering company based in Western Sydney supplying equipment and services to the mining and construction industries. We design and manufacture specialised equipment and provide technical support for our products.
We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team in Rydalmere.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Electrical Engineering Technician will assist with the assembly, wiring, testing, commissioning, servicing and modification of electrical systems and specialised equipment.
The role involves working with engineers and other technicians through the build and test stages of new equipment, as well as servicing and updating existing equipment to meet current requirements and applicable standards.
KEY DUTIES
- Assemble and wire electrical panels and equipment according to drawings and instructions.
- Carry out functional testing and checks on completed equipment.
- Identify and rectify electrical faults using appropriate test equipment.
- Assist engineers with changes, upgrades and improvements to existing designs.
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, WHS requirements and company procedures.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documents.
- Complete job records,
test sheets and service reports as required.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an electrical technician role in a manufacturing, industrial or similar environment (essential).
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent recognised electrical trade qualification.
- Experience in electrical assembly, testing, fault‑finding and repair of industrial or heavy‑duty equipment.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Competent use of electrical test and measuring instruments.
- Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Construction Induction (White Card) – desirable.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Electrical licence – desirable but not essential.
