The opportunity
Catalina Kitchen, a renowned restaurant and catering company, is seeking an experienced and talented Chef to join our team in Wantirna South, Victoria. As part of our full-time team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for our discerning guests.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and refine the menu, ensuring it aligns with the restaurant's culinary vision
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards
- Mentor and train junior kitchen staff, sharing your expertise and fostering a positive team dynamic
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies to support smooth kitchen operations
- Contribute to the overall success of the restaurant by providing exceptional customer service and support
What we're looking for
- Significant experience (3-5 years) as a Chef in a high-volume restaurant or catering environment
- Formal culinary training or qualification, such as a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, flavour profiles, and current culinary trends
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Passion for creating visually appealing and delicious dishes that showcase the best of seasonal produce
- A team-oriented mindset and the ability to work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
