We are currently seeking an experienced Food Technology Technician, commencing Term 1, 2026. This is a part time, ongoing position.
De La Salle College is an integral part of the faith community of Malvern and Malvern East. De La Salle College is governed under the authority of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Limited (MACS). MACS is the employer of employees at De La Salle College.
Remuneration is based on experience in accordance with the Education Support Officer – Category B scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA)
Job description:
· Preparation and classroom support
· Stock and equipment management
· Prepare and set up for practical activities and demonstrations in advance according to the timetable, requirements of the teacher and class. This can include practical classes or sensory and tasting activities in theory classes
· Assist teachers during practical activities with supervision and support for students learning
· Order and purchase all food materials and supplies
· To check food supplies before ordering and ensure most cost effective purchases are made for weekly order
· To ensure first aid material is kept up to date and replacement material sought where appropriate via the Learning Area Team Leader – Technology
Skills/Experience required:
· A strong commitment to Catholic education.
· An ability to develop and maintain professional and caring relationships with students and colleagues.
· An eagerness to learn
· An enthusiasm to implement a differentiated curriculum and use modern technology to support student learning.
· Experience in a similar role is advantageous
