East Village Hotel is a Gastro pub located in Balmain, serving classics & daily specials. Affectionately nicknamed ‘The EVH’ by our locals, we are proudly ‘pokie free’, dog friendly, and the only remaining hotel in East Balmain. Super conveniently located, only 100m from the East Balmain Ferry, we are also only one ferry ride from Barangaroo!
We are looking for a Casual Chef.
As a casual Chef, you will chop, mix, and make entrees, sauces, or side-dishes. You will ensure compliance with the highest quality, hygiene, and health standards. Success in this role will be demonstrated by delivering consistent and high quality food.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the sous chef in daily food preparation activities
- Monitors inventory and expiration dates of raw goods
- Ensures high quality food production, preparation,
and presentation
- Observes all applicable standards
- Ensures work area remains clean
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of culinary experience
- Culinary training or apprenticeship certification a plus
- Able to maintain quality standards consistently
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven culinary catering talent
- Able to work effectively under pressure
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 – $45.00 per hour
