The opportunity
Ford & Doonan Malaga is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team in Malaga, Western Australia.
As a Refrigeration Mechanic, you will play a vital role in Installing / maintaining and repairing domestic and light commercial refrigeration systems, ensuring our clients receive reliable and efficient service.
Key responsibilities
1. Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of commercial and industrial refrigeration equipment, including chillers, freezers, and air conditioning units
2. Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration systems to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime
3. Install new A/C systems and components according to industry standards and manufacturer specifications
4. Replace or upgrade worn parts, motors, valve, and control units as needed.
5. Conduct leak detection, pressure testing and re-gassing in accordance to environmental standards.
6. Document all maintenance and repair work, including maintaining detailed records of parts and labour
7. Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to service requests and keeping clients informed of progress
8. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and safety practices
What we're looking for
1. Formal qualifications in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, such as a Certificate III in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration or equivalent
2. Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Refrigeration Mechanic, working with commercial and industrial refrigeration systems
3. Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills,
with the ability to diagnose and repair complex issues
4. Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients
5. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all relevant regulations and safety protocols
6. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
