Croydon Shire Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Childcare Director to lead the day-to-day operations of the Croydon Child Care Centre—an accredited service caring for up to 21 children from birth to Year 6. The Centre operates Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 4:45pm. This hands-on role is responsible for ensuring the Centre meets all requirements under the National Quality Framework and the Education and Care Services National Regulations. You will oversee staff, support children’s learning and wellbeing, maintain compliance, and build strong relationships with families and the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the Croydon Child Care Centre
- Ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework and regulatory standards
- Provide high-quality educational programs and safe care environments
- Support, mentor and supervise childcare staff
- Communicate effectively with families, children and stakeholders
- Maintain accurate documentation, records and reporting requirements
Skills & Experience Required
- Diploma in Children’s Services
- Current First Aid, CPR,
Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification (or ability to maintain)
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- Police Check
- Solid understanding of legislative and regulatory childcare requirements
- Ability to communicate with families and staff through formal and informal channels
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge and references supporting your capability
