Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Educational Leader/Assistant Director to join the foundation team at Schofields. This is a hands on, on the floor role where you will work closely with educators each day, leading by example and driving best practice in early education. You will mentor and guide your team, support curriculum implementation, and assist the Centre Director with the day-to-day operations and leadership of the service.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of educators through on-the-floor mentoring, collaboration, and support.
- Model and guide best-practice early childhood education in daily routines and program implementation.
- Work alongside the Centre Director to ensure smooth daily operations,
staffing, and compliance.
- Develop and deliver engaging, holistic learning programs that nurture each child’s growth, curiosity, and development.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional team culture focused on high-quality care and education.
- Build strong relationships with families and the community, promoting involvement and Mini Masterminds’ values.
- Ensure health, safety, and wellbeing standards are consistently met and upheld.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent)
- At least 6 months’ experience as an Educational Leader, Assistant Director, or in a leadership capacity
- Strong ability to lead, mentor, and inspire educators on the floor
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certifications
- Child Protection training/certificate
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Passion for continuous learning, innovation, and professional development
