This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.
This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

- The Palliative Care CNS 2 will function as a member of the Community Specialist Palliative Care Nursing Team.
- Provide specialist palliative care across a range of settings.
- Use a combination of direct, shared and consultative models.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of the specified post-graduate qualification (or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation).eg palliative care.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and ability to exercise autonomous decision making in providing complex care to palliative care patients.
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills when working with patients and families during their palliative care.
- Demonstrated application of evidence-based practice and critical thinking in in the planning and delivery of individualised person-centred patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to provide education and mentorship to other health professionals using formal and informal modalities.
- Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, families and employees in a culturally safe and respectful way to enhance health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.
- Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
- Demonstrated effective, excellent written and verbal communication skills and information technology skills.
