Position Information
Matraville Soldiers’ Settlement Public School has an enrolment of 129 students, including 25% Aboriginal students and 24% from non-English speaking backgrounds. The school features an onsite public preschool with a strong focus on excellence in early years education, inclusive practice, HPGE, and Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL). Our staff, students and community work together to create a caring, inclusive and safe learning environment where every child is known, valued and cared for. The school delivers differentiated learning across all key learning areas, with a strong emphasis on wellbeing, the arts and technology. High expectations, evidence-informed practice and explicit and quality teaching are central to our approach. Selection Criteria
Demonstrated Experience: Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Autism and complex learning and support needs within an inclusive classroom setting.
Personalised Learning and Differentiation: Demonstrated commitment to quality classroom practice and positive behaviour support through the design and delivery of high-quality,
differentiated and personalised learning programs that respond to the diverse strengths and needs of students with disabilities.
Working Collaboratively to Build Robust Partnerships: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SLSOs, counsellors, parents, carers and external agencies to plan, implement and review supports that ensure inclusion and success for all learners.
Building Relationships and School Culture: Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents, and to model inclusion, positive engagement and professionalism, contributing to a strong sense of belonging and the collaborative culture of Matraville Soldiers' Settlement Public School.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
