HSEQ Manager
Full time | Reporting to the COO
We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to lead our Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Training (HSEQT) function. This key role drives a safe, high-performance culture by developing, implementing, and improving our WHS, environmental, quality, and training systems. You will ensure compliance with relevant legislation, oversee our Integrated Management System (IMS), and support continuous improvement across the business.
About the Position
As the HSEQ Manager, you will:
- Lead WHS strategy, risk management, and compliance across the business.
- Maintain and continuously improve the company’s IMS, WHS and Quality systems.
- Conduct risk assessments, inspections, incident investigations, and audits.
- Manage WorkCover/WorkSafe matters, emergency management systems, and safety equipment compliance.
- Oversee environmental compliance, incident management, and sustainability initiatives.
- Develop and manage training and competency frameworks, including mandatory and role-specific training.
- Lead contractor safety management, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to WHS staff and senior managers, fostering a strong safety culture.
About You
You will bring:
- Strong experience in WHS, environmental and quality management.
- Knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and IMS frameworks.
- Experience conducting field inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- High professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 5 years in a Health & Safety leadership role, including management of direct reports.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in horticulture, construction, or a closely related field.
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification (Diploma or Degree).
- Current Victorian Driver’s License.
- First Aid Level 2 (Adult).
- Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and relevant environmental/quality standards.
- Demonstrated experience implementing or maintaining ISO-certified management systems.
- Well-developed analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Desired
- Training & Assessment qualification (TAE).
- Auditing accreditation (ISO-specific).
