We are seeking experienced Chicken Hangers to join our fast-paced poultry processing facility in Thomastown. This role is extremely physically demanding and best suited to individuals with proven experience in live bird handling, meat or poultry processing, or similar high-intensity factory environments.
You will be working with live poultry, performing repetitive movements, heavy lifting, and maintaining a fast pace in a cold, busy environment. Only apply if you can confidently meet the physical requirements every shift.
Key Responsibilities
Hang live chickens onto processing shackles safely and securely
Maintain a fast, consistent pace on the production line
Handle poultry humanely while following strict animal welfare standards
Work in cold, noisy conditions with exposure to feathers, dust, and odours
Assist with cleaning, equipment maintenance, and end-of-shift hygiene tasks.
What We’re Looking For
Essential: prior experience in chicken hanging or poultry processing
Must provide an updated resume with recent, contactable references
Full, unrestricted Australian working rights (no sponsorship available)
High level of physical fitness and stamina
Able to lift moderate weights repetitively
Able to stand for long periods
Able to work at speed in a fast-moving setting
Reliable, punctual, and willing to work overtime when required
Comfortable handling live animals and working in varying temperatures
