A leading chemical manufacturing organisation (Major Hazard Facility) is seeking an Asset Reliability Specialist to drive plant reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, and support safe, compliant, high-performance operations.
About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance & Reliability Manager, you will lead reliability engineering initiatives across a major hazardous facility. Your expertise in data analysis, condition monitoring, and maintenance optimisation will support protected, effective, and sustainable asset performance. This is a 6 - 12 month contract role.
Key Responsibilities
Reliability & Engineering Analysis
Conduct RCA, FMEA/FMECA, RCM, and fault-tree analysis.
Analyse asset failures, downtime trends, and performance data.
Develop and implement reliability models and improvement plans.
Maintenance Strategy Optimisation
Review and optimise preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance.
Ensure tasks align with asset criticality, regulatory standards, and lifecycle needs.
Support adoption of predictive technologies (vibration, thermography, oil analysis, sensors).
Condition Monitoring & Asset Health
Lead condition monitoring programs and interpret diagnostics.
Provide actionable insights to maintenance and operations teams.
Maintain asset health dashboards and KPIs.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
Track reliability metrics (MTBF, MTTR, OEE, lifecycle cost).
Lead improvement projects across the facility.
Ensure practices meet major hazard facility requirements and ISO 55000.
Support risk assessments and asset-related incident investigations.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Reliability Engineering.
3–7+ years in reliability or asset management.
Experience in chemical manufacturing, heavy industry, or major hazardous facilities.
Desirable
CRE, CMRP, RBI, or Vibration Monitoring certification.
