Community Service Officer Administration Assistant

Location – Griffith Community Corrections

Employment type – Temporary vacancy for up to 12 months

Salary - $84,659 - $92,701 p.a plus Superannuation & leave loading

As a motivated Administrator, you will assess and refer offenders to community agencies and undertake site inspections to ensure compliance with requirements under the Work Order Program. You will also provide administrative and clerical support to the Work Order Scheme by undertaking various duties to ensure the efficient operation of the Work Order Program.

You’ll report directly to the Community Service Organiser, with overall supervision from the Manager, Community Corrections, ensuring guidance and support every step of the way.

What You’ll Do

- Conduct induction interviews/work placement assessments and inspections and allocate clients to appropriate agencies through written instructions.
- Identify and induct potential agencies into the work order scheme to ensure there is an availability of agencies to sustain the demand for work orders.




- Allocate offenders to suitable work locations and monitor their ongoing attendance and progress at the work location.
- Co‑ordinate and maintain computerised and manual attendance records for offenders placed at worksites and collect the hours worked by clients, record data and generate reports.
- Undertake work, health and safety site inspections of agencies to establish suitability for the work order program.
- Manage client and agency enquiries regarding placements, absences, appointments and other general enquiries relating to the work order program.
- Prepare relevant papers for court preparations.
- Participate in meetings with Community Service Organiser, Community Corrections manager and field officer to coordinate the operations of the work order program.
- Prioritise workload and task delivery in line with policies and the procedures manual.
- Serve as the first point of contact for inquiries concerning the work order program, exercising discretion in deciding which matters should be referred elsewhere.

What We’re Looking For

- Willingness to learn and actively develop an understanding of the Community Service Work Order Scheme, along with relevant acts and regulations, through on‑the‑job experience.




- Engage in hands‑on learning to gain knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety requirements, including conducting inspections to assess agency suitability for Community Service Work.
- Demonstrate a willingness to engage with all individuals, respecting diversity and ensuring clear, consistent communication.
- Current driver’s licence and willingness/ability to drive within NSW.
- Successful completion of the community service training.
