We are seeking a highly skilled administrative professional to provide support and advice to the Ministerial Services and Coordination branch. This full‑time prospect allows you to work with a high‑performing, passionate team in the Victorian Public Service.
About The Role
The Adviser, Statutory Appointments will provide advice to departmental staff about upcoming appointments to statutory entities; write, prepare and lodge Cabinet and Governor in Council paperwork for ministerial offices, deputy secretaries and the Secretary, and manage the probity process.
Responsibilities
- Preparing complex briefings, Cabinet and Executive Council documentation, instruments of appointment and correspondence in relation to statutory appointments for Justice portfolios.
- Undertaking research and consultation to determine the terms and conditions of appointments that should apply to statutory office holders.
- Reading, interpreting, and applying guidelines and legislation in relation to statutory appointments.
About You
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet firm deadlines.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and legislation.
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge of and/or experience in government and administrative processes.
- Understanding of Cabinet, Executive Council and legislative processes,
or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
