About the Organization
At Our Place, we believe that supporting local schools to be the hub of the community is one of the best ways to bring about long‑lasting change in communities experiencing disadvantage. We work in partnership with core service providers, government, and the local community to increase collaboration and support all children and their families to succeed in life. We would love you to be part of an organisation that is forward‑thinking and growing from strength to strength, with a solid evaluation and research‑based approach to supporting children and families in disadvantaged communities.
What part do you play?
We are seeking an enthusiastic, community‑minded individual to join our Morwell site team. In this role, you will work alongside the Partnership Manager and fellow Community Facilitators to build trusted relationships with families, strengthen collaboration between local services, and help create the conditions for better outcomes for children.
This role connects the dots. You will work across people, services and opportunities to ensure families have the right support at the right time and that partners are working together in ways that genuinely make a difference.
There is also scope to take on increased leadership responsibilities over time, supporting site coordination and contributing to future succession planning.
Who are you?
You will thrive in this role if you are a natural relationship builder, passionate about bringing positive change to children and families. You will build trust with our partners and with families to ensure you are able to effectively support and discuss their needs.
You will also be capturing evidence, running reports, and making sure documentation is completed paying close attention to detail.
What does a typical day look like?
In truth, varied! No two days are the same, no two conversations are the same, however the end goal is always the same, to support the local community positively. Here’s an idea of what you’ll be up to day to day:
Spend time at the school drop‑off greeting and meeting parents and having informal discussions about their family’s needs and supporting them to access services and community activities.
Facilitate the Site Practitioners’ Network Group with staff from the school, early learning centre, and maternal and child health to discuss how better to align site access needs.
Work with the Partnership Manager to plan a site tour of the early learning centre for primary school staff to build understanding of continuity of learning for children.
Follow up with a local service provider about the opportunity for them to run an onsite programme.
Complete the internal site data report to capture the number of parents and families utilising on‑site programmes and services.
Help coordinate activities or events that bring families and partners together.
Meet with a local service provider to explore opportunities for onsite programmes.
What’s in it for you?
Be part of a new concept that has only been rolled out across 10 sites in Victoria.
A super supportive company dedicated to helping you succeed.
A forward‑thinking and open‑minded Manager who supports your development and aspirations.
The opportunity to use your creative flare and to come up with new ideas.
4 weeks annual leave entitlement with an extra 4 weeks purchased leave during school holidays.
This is a full‑time role.
