- Level D, $168,933 - $186,045 p.a., plus up to 17% employer superannuation
- Full-time, ongoing appointment

We’re looking for an Associate Professor to help shape the future of UniSC’s Technology discipline within the School of Science, Technology and Engineering. This role offers the chance to lead meaningful teaching, research, and engagement in areas such as ICT, data analytics, cyber security, artificial intelligence, IoT and other emerging technologies. You’ll bring a strong record of research leadership, collaboration, and industry connection, and play an influential role in mentoring colleagues, supervising research students, and guiding curriculum design that supports real-world employability and lifelong learning. Working with government, industry, and community partners, you will help drive research and teaching that has genuine impact across regional and national contexts, particularly within our strategic focus on sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation. You will





- lead a recognised research program with a strong record of external funding, impactful outcomes, and mentorship of emerging researchers;
- shape engaging learning experiences through thoughtful curriculum design and teaching that inspires students and supports colleagues; and
- build productive partnerships across industry, community, government, and within UniSC, contributing to impactful outcomes and a positive, collaborative academic culture.

About you

Our ideal candidate is an accomplished academic with national, and often international, recognition in their field, who thrives at the intersection of research, teaching, and engagement. You lead impactful research, mentor early career researchers, and supervise Higher Degree by Research students, while translating knowledge into real-world outcomes. You inspire and support students through cutting-edge teaching, curriculum design, and engaging learning experiences, and contribute to a positive academic culture. Through meaningful partnerships with industry, government, and communities, you help shape strategic priorities and drive initiatives that make a difference locally, nationally, and globally.

You will possess

- A doctoral qualification in a relevant field and substantial experience as an academic leader.
- Evidence of significant involvement in, and impact on, the development of your discipline.
- A clear, coherent research program with a strong record of high-quality outputs, sustained engagement, external recognition, successful supervision of Higher Degree by Research candidates, and demonstrable impact.
- Proven research leadership,



including mentoring early career researchers, building research capability and culture, and contributing to national discipline panels or similar forums.
- Excellence in teaching and learning, with experience leading curriculum design, implementing research-led approaches, and driving initiatives that enhance student engagement and success.
- Positive leadership and interpersonal skills that foster a supportive, high-performing academic environment for staff and students.
- Extensive experience and effectiveness in academic administration within a university context.
- A track record of developing and maintaining meaningful partnerships at regional, national, and international levels that benefit students, the community, and the University.
- Postgraduate qualifications in higher education.
- Formal recognition for excellence in learning, teaching, and/or research.
