Maintscape provides a wide range of outdoor services, including lawn care, hedging, pruning, soft landscaping, plant selection, garden restoration, mulching, irrigation assistance, and general property upkeep. Our team works with homeowners, property managers, and commercial clients to create and maintain functional, attractive, and well-presented outdoor environments.
As our client base continues to grow, we are seeking a skilled and reliable Landscape Gardener to join our team.
**About the Role**
The Landscape Gardener will be responsible for carrying out a broad range of gardening, horticultural, and soft landscaping tasks to maintain and enhance gardens, lawns, and outdoor spaces. This role requires solid practical skills, an understanding of plant care and horticulture, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
You will play a key role in ensuring that Maintscape consistently delivers high-quality work that aligns with clients’ expectations and supports the continued growth of our property services division.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Carry out general garden maintenance, including mowing, edging, trimming, hedge shaping, pruning, weeding, mulching, fertilising, and pest management.
- Assist with soft landscaping projects such as planting, soil preparation, turf installation,
garden bed design, and plant selection based on site conditions and aesthetics.
- Maintain and improve the appearance and health of established gardens through seasonal care and ongoing horticultural work.
- Install and maintain irrigation components as required (e.g., drip lines, sprinklers, timers), and identify faults or areas requiring repair.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment, including the proper use and upkeep of tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Provide recommendations to clients on suitable plants, layout improvements, and ongoing maintenance strategies.
- Follow scheduled job runs and complete work efficiently while meeting standards of quality and presentation.
- Assist with general property maintenance tasks when required (e.g., green waste removal, minor outdoor repairs, and upkeep).
**About You**
To be considered for this role, you will possess:
- Certificate III or higher in Horticulture, Landscape Construction, or a related field and at least two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Strong practical knowledge of plant care, garden maintenance, horticultural practices, and seasonal requirements.
- Ability to operate gardening and landscaping machinery safely (e.g., mowers, hedge trimmers, blowers, whipper-snippers).
- Experience with soft landscaping, plant installation, soil preparation, and turf care.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Good communication and client-service skills.
