Our client is a nationally recognised Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering a diverse range of vocational qualifications across multiple industries. Courses are delivered through both online and face-to-face modes, with options ranging from short courses to full qualifications, as well as tailored corporate training solutions.

Purpose of the Role

The Academic Manager will lead the academic and operational performance of the RTO, ensuring the organisation achieves both compliance excellence and commercial growth. This role sits at the intersection of education leadership, business development, and operational strategy, with responsibility for:

- Driving Enrolments & Growth: Building sustainable student enrolment pipelines, ensuring courses run at capacity, and supporting revenue objectives.
- Academic & Compliance Oversight: Maintaining the highest standards of teaching, learning, and compliance with all ASQA and regulatory requirements.
- Strategic Alignment: Linking academic delivery with market demand and organisational profitability.

This is a leadership position with accountability for team performance, compliance outcomes, and enrolment growth.

Key Responsibilities1. Enrolment & Growth

- Lead enrolment strategies to ensure student intake targets are consistently achieved.
- Collaborate with marketing and admissions to maximise lead conversion.




- Monitor enrolment trends and recommend initiatives to increase student acquisition and retention.
- Provide detailed reporting on enrolments, class utilisation, and revenue contribution.

2. Academic & Operational Leadership

- Oversee course planning, scheduling, and delivery models to optimise class capacity.
- Lead and manage academic staff to ensure consistency, engagement, and delivery quality.
- Monitor student experience, satisfaction, and outcomes, driving continuous improvement.
- Implement strategies to maintain strong student retention rates.

3. Compliance & Quality Assurance

- Ensure full compliance with the Standards for RTOs 2015 and ASQA requirements.
- Lead audit preparation, rectification processes, and quality improvement frameworks.
- Oversee assessment validation and moderation to ensure integrity and consistency.

4. Strategic & Business Alignment

- Translate enrolment and delivery objectives into clear revenue outcomes.
- Align program offerings with market needs, industry trends, and profitability.
- Provide executive reporting and recommendations on academic operations, compliance status, and growth opportunities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)





- Achievement of enrolment and retention targets.
- Class utilisation maintained at 80–90% capacity.
- Monthly and quarterly revenue goals achieved.
- Zero non-compliances in audits.
- Positive student outcomes and satisfaction levels.
- Solid academic staff performance and compliance adherence.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

- Minimum Diploma in Education, Business, or relevant field.
- At least 3–5 years’ experience in senior RTO/education management.
- Strong background in RTO operations, compliance, or academic leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve enrolment and revenue targets.
- In-depth knowledge of ASQA, Standards for RTOs, training packages, and compliance frameworks.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and drive outcomes.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

Desirable

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).
- Experience leading ASQA audits and rectification processes.
- Understanding of e-learning and digital education platforms.
- Commercial acumen with ability to align academic functions to market and financial objectives.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 – $105,000.00 per year

Experience:

- RTO/education management: 3 years (Preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Preferred)
- Driver Licence (Preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (Required)
