Assistant Manager (2IC) – Sushi Maker
Full-Time Position | Early Morning Starts | Leadership Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager (2IC) to support the daily operations of our sushi production team. If you have strong leadership skills, a passion for high-quality sushi, and enjoy working in a fast-paced workplace, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Manager with daily store operations
- Oversee and support sushi makers throughout prep and service
- Ensure all sushi is prepared to a high standard of quality and presentation
- Train and guide new team members
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering
- Uphold food safety and hygiene standards at all times
Sushi Duties Include:
- Cutting, slicing and filleting a variety of fish
- Preparing traditional Japanese-style sushi rice
- Preparing different types of sushi dishes
- Ensuring efficiency and consistency across production
Requirements:
- Previous experience in sushi making (essential)
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Fluent English and great communication skills
- Reliable, punctual and able to work in a team
- Full working rights
- Able to work early mornings (hours vary between 4am–4pm)
