The Position:

Are you a payroll professional who thrives on accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement? Join our People, Culture & Communications team as a Payroll Lead, where you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering seamless payroll operations for a dynamic, multi-state workforce.

- Impactful Work: Own the end-to-end weekly payroll process for ~150 employees across diverse employment types.
- Autonomy & Expertise: Be the system owner for Employment Hero Payroll, ensuring smooth integration with Xero and driving governance and compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline processes, enhance automation, and champion data integrity.
- Collaborative Environment: Work closely with Finance, HR, and Operations to support business performance and employee experience.

What You’ll Do

- Deliver accurate, timely weekly payroll and manage all statutory obligations.
- Maintain and optimise Employment Hero Payroll and its integration with Xero.
- Provide insights through payroll reporting for labour forecasting, project costing, and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to Fair Work Act, NES, Modern Awards, and ATO requirements.
- Support WGEA reporting and internal/external audits.

What We’re Looking For

- Minimum 5 years’ payroll experience (construction industry experience highly desirable).
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and award interpretation.
- Experience with Employment Hero Payroll and Xero preferred.




- High-level Excel and data analysis skills.
- Certificate IV in Payroll, HR, Accounting or similar desirable.

Pay: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
