About the Role
The overall objective of the position is to provide a first-class cleaning service, and be responsible for cleaning areas as allocated by the Cleaning Supervisor (this will vary from time to time to suit the operational needs of the School).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- General cleaning duties,
- To report all defects/hazards immediately to the cleaning supervisor,
- To regard health and safety of staff, students and visitors to the school as a priority,
- Any other reasonable duty as directed by the Facilities Manager or his delegated authority.
Essential Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
- A minimum of 2 years commercial / domestic cleaning experience (references to be provided).
- The ability to respond positively and flexibly to the changing demands of the post.
- The ability to show initiative, prioritize work, and manage time effectively.
- Physically able to reach, stretch, bend and walk during the daily routines,
with ability to stand for long periods of time; and to be physically able to use vacuum cleaners for extended periods of time, where applicable.
- Ability to follow verbal directions and be contactable during working hours.
- Positive response to requests.
- High attention to detail.
- Be consistence, punctual and reliable.
- Good health.
- Hold or eligible for a positive notice and a blue card through the Department of Justice and Attorney-General.
- An understanding of Manual Handling, and Chemical Safety and Handling, (MSDS) and be willing to undertake ongoing training.
