Due to ongoing expansion within one of Adelaide's foremost property development firms, we are seeking an experienced administrator to join our team and advance their career as we execute our long-term growth strategy.
The successful candidate will play an integral role in the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects, including multi-level constructions, individual retirement units, unit renovations, and maintenance activities across our properties in both Adelaide and Melbourne.
As a Contract Administrator, you will provide critical support to our Adelaide CBD-based project team by managing and administering contracts throughout the entire project lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include ensuring project quality, accurate costing and profitability while proactively mitigating financial and contractual risks.
Your Role
Essentially you will ensure all contractual, documentation and reporting requirements for projects are fulfilled accurately and on time.
· Assist with feasibility studies and liaise with preliminary consultants.
· Provide support during the tender process where required.
· Review and track changes for pending contracts.
· Assist the project team in executing the procurement strategy.
· Evaluate work orders, scopes of work and accurate delivery.
· Oversee management of variations, extensions of time (EOT), and claims for additional payments.
· Submit project related invoices for approval and payment.
· Conduct regular reviews of material and labour costs.
· Provide general support to the project team, the finance team and site supervisors as required.
· Assist in the QS process.
· Draft claims for 3rd party financiers.
· Monitor and report on project financial forecasts, actual expenditures,
and profit/loss status.
· Administer contract finalization processes, including resolution of defects, completion of manuals, and approval of variations.
· Prepare detailed reports for the Chairman, Development Director, Project Managers, Financial Controller and the broader Management Team.
Qualifications & Experience
Candidates must possess a tertiary level qualification in Construction, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in contract and project administration within a Construction Group or Building Contractor environment with exposure to claims processes is also essential.
Demonstrated proficiency with Project Management software, plus proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
QS and / or estimating background with onsite experience is desirable.
Strong financial analysis skills combined with an administrative focus and effective negotiation abilities
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Possess an aptitude for prioritising tasks, meeting strict deadlines, and strong time management capabilities.
Possession of a current driver's licence.
