Our school is seeking for an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, security, and physical condition of our School campus.
This role is permanent full time is responsible for ensuring all buildings, grounds, plant, equipment, and associated infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards and in compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
The Role
- Manage cyclical maintenance programs and develop preventative maintenance plans.
- Oversee the security of school buildings and grounds, acting as the key contact for after-hours incidents.
- Provide technical and management expertise on property maintenance, security, and work safety.
- Coordinate contractors and vendors, ensuring all work meets the needs of the School and is within budget.
- Lead minor capital projects, including planning, budgeting, and stakeholder liaison.
- Provide strong leadership and support to the Facilities team, fostering professional growth and skill development.
- Manage operational budgets, procurement, and supplier negotiations.
- Support the School’s Child Safe policies and actively promote a positive safety culture.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Membership of relevant skilled organisations (property/facilities management).
- Technical skills in building maintenance, repair, and utilities management.
- Project management experience, including supervising facilities planning and construction.
- Strong knowledge of WHS and building regulations (Health and Safety Officer qualification desirable).
- Proven ability to manage budgets and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships.
- High standards of honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
