Spice In The Valley Pty Ltd, based in Caversham, WA is a Modern Indian Restaurant with a bar, function hall & outdoor area in the heart of Swan Valley. At Spice In The Valley the artistry of Indian cuisine meets the refinement of five-star culinary mastery. Currently, there is a vacancy for a skilled and experienced Chef to join their team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Produce, develop, and modify new menus, as well as determine the ingredients, portions, recipes, and presentation.
- Calculate food cost and selling prices.
- Establish and introduce the cooking techniques, procedures, and standard portions to the cooks.
- Oversee the kitchen setup and food preparation, and delegate tasks to the cooks and kitchen hands as needed.
- Oversee the day-to-day kitchen operation to ensure that it runs smoothly and the food meets the quality standards prior to serving.
- May assist in cooking and preparing food when needed especially during busy hours.
- Monitor the management of food, utensils, and kitchen equipment inventory,
and oversee all the purchases to ensure that they’re always within the business budget.
- Implement general kitchen inspection regularly.
- Train recent kitchen staff by demonstrating techniques to prepare the food and providing clear guidance about the standard kitchen procedures.
- Monitor the sanitation practices and ensure all the kitchen staff comply with the safety food standards and regulations.
Eligibility Criteria:
- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma.
- Or At least three years of relevant experience in similar position may substitute for the formal qualifications as mentioned above.
- This role is for full-time position for all Australian Citizen and Permanent Residents as well as overseas professionals with full-time working rights in Australia.
Salary - $77,000 plus super
