Your role at St John of God Midland Hospital

An prospect exists for an enthusiastic Clinical Nurse to join the Diabetes Service team as a Clinical Nurse focusing on Diabetes Education. This role offers a valuable opportunity to develop skills and experience in inpatient and outpatient diabetes management, within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

This opportunity is offered on part-time basis with, working 4 days per week, 8am to 4pm.

Position

- Provide support for the assessment, education, and management of inpatients and outpatients with Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, gestational and steroid-induced diabetes.

- Assist with blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and patient education under the guidance of the Diabetes Clinical Nurse Consultant.

- Participate in diabetes-related group education sessions for patients and staff.

- Collaborate with medical, nursing, and allied health staff to promote safe and effective diabetes care.

- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in patient records and contribute to discharge planning.

Position Requirements

You will be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and possess significant progression toward the attainment of a post graduate qualification in diabetes education. Demonstrated interest in diabetes management and patient education will be essential for this position.

To succeed you will have a willingness to provide patient-centred care and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within the diabetes team. Ideally you will have previous exposure to diabetes care in acute or outpatient settings and a proven interest in pursuing credentialing as a diabetes educator.

- Salary:



$109,599 to $115,682 pro rate for part-time (rates as of December 2025), plus 12% superannuation

- Part-time permanent position, working 30.8 hours per week
