Position Descriptor:
Nangwarry Preschool is a small, community-focused site located within the grounds of Nangwarry Primary School in Nangwarry, South Australia. The town is approximately 33 kilometres north of Mount Gambier.
The Preschool Educator is responsible for delivering high-quality early childhood education and care to children aged 3-5 years at Nangwarry Preschool. Working collaboratively as part of a dedicated education team, the educator will support children's learning, development, and wellbeing, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, implement and evaluate an educational program aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
Foster positive relationships with children, families, and the broader community
Promote and support inclusive practices, cultural diversity and the individual needs of each child
Maintain a safe and stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environment
Observe, assess, and document children's learning and progress
Collaborate with the teaching team and school leadership to ensure a cohesive approach to early childhood education
Engage in ongoing professional development and reflection
Adhere to all legislative, departmental,



and site-based policies and procedures
Essential Criteria
Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or approved equivalent
Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Approved First Aid qualification, including Anaphylaxis and Asthma management
Sound knowledge of the EYLF and National Quality Standard
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience working in a preschool or early childhood setting
Commitment to child safety and inclusive practice
Desirables
Qualifications in special education or other relevant qualifications.
