Technology Support Engineer (Fixed term contract)

A Day in the Life:
In this role, your primary function is to provide day to day operational support to technology users, and back-office management of systems and services.
Based in the Geelong terminal office, you will provide remote- and in-person support to staff across both our shore sites, and vessels. You will have the opportunity to sail aboard Spirit of Tasmania to our Devonport head office, to complete initial induction and knowledge transfer, and later to support our team in-person in our Devonport terminal.
Location: Geelong, VIC
Duration: Fixed term - 9 Months, for immediate start.
Essential Experience:
· Capacity to contribute to a positive and qualified team environment including the ability to assist other team members with service requests and incidents
· The ability to work under pressure
· Application of initiative in the organisation, prioritisation and completion of tasks
· Well-developed problem-solving and decision-making skills
· Professional presentation and manner
· Demonstrated commitment to developing skills and knowledge
· A positive understanding of modern computer principles including operating systems and end-user IT hardware
· A general knowledge of the Microsoft Product suite including Office and Microsoft 365
· A general knowledge of basic networking methodologies
Applicants must be eligible to obtain a federal MSIC security card, which requires a background check.
Desirable Experience:
· Higher level computer networking skills including familiarity with enterprise-grade networking equipment, next-generation firewalls & wireless networking
· Windows server administration incl. hybrid (AZ-800 / AZ-801) or equivalent
· Microsoft Azure experience or training (AZ-900 / AZ-901)
· ITIL v4 experience or training
· Working knowledge of ACSC’s ‘Essential 8’ maturity model.
· Some knowledge of Operational Technologies would be favourable
