About the role
We are looking for a driven, ambitious, and strategic Business Development Manager in our Lead Generation team who thrives on taking ownership, initiative and creating opportunities. In this role, you will actively seek out exciting market prospects, follow up leads provided by our internal specialists, open doors for Akura, and play a key part in growing our client base, revenue and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and convert new business opportunities by proactively researching markets, prospecting potential clients, tapping into various networks and developing tailored pitches to meet revenue targets.
- Build, manage, and nurture strong client relationships across the Eastern Seaboard through regular engagement, exceptional service, and a consultative approach that supports long-term partnerships.
- Execute Akura’s Sales Process and Consultative Selling methodology, ensuring all interactions deliver value, uncover client needs, and align solutions effectively.
- Maintain all leads, pipeline stages,
and client data within HubSpot, keeping accurate records, tracking progress, and ensuring transparency across the sales cycle.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Project Consultants to ensure seamless handovers from prospecting to project initiation, enhancing overall client experience.
- Represent Akura professionally at industry events, conferences, and client meetings, acting as a brand ambassador and promoting our capability and expertise.
- Provide ongoing market intelligence, including competitor activity, trends, and customer feedback, to support strategy development and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate high levels of self-motivation and a growth mindset, consistently seeking opportunities to learn, improve, and contribute to business growth.
- Meet and exceed assigned sales targets, using structured planning, disciplined follow-up, and strong commercial acumen.
- Apply strong knowledge of the building and industrial development sectors, leveraging industry insights to position Akura competitively in the market.
About You
- A self-starter, who is naturally driven to pursue opportunity and open doors with respect, humility and maturity – we don’t do ego
- A proven ability to build lasting relationships that convert to sales and repeat business
- Exceptional communication skills,
with the ability to influence and close
- A team player with a can-do attitude and high level of initiative and drive
- Experience within the construction industry preferred but not essential
- Excellent organisational, time management and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience in HubSpot ideal but not essential
