The Social Media Manager within the Digital Marketing Services team has responsibility to provide specialist consultation to the agency staff and external stakeholders on social media marketing, strategic development and best practice delivery of social media programs against agreed targets. This includes the management of key campaigns, ‘Always On’ social presence for Vivid Sydney and China Social channels, content calendars, external agency partners, and delivering best in class solutions to meet marketing objectives, timeframes, budgets and the needs of the NSW tourism industry.



Key accountabilities of the role include:

• Lead and develop the social media strategy (including paid media),

approach and initiative for consumer social media channels including:

o Vivid Sydney channels (Facebook / Instagram / Twitter) and

o China social channels (WeChat / Weibo / Douyin)

• Drive excellence in social media content production, creative best practise and performance for consumer marketing campaigns

• Lead and develop the social intelligence program, consumer social reporting and application of insights to improve performance and build social capability within the consumer marketing team.

• Vivid Sydney social media community management, moderation, content plans, paid social engagement, operations and earned media.

• Vivid Sydney and China social content management (planning and production), strategy and performance

• Management and reporting effectiveness of proposed budgets (to the right), invoicing and accruals.

• Collaborate closely with the Social Media Manager (who manages Sydney and Visit NSW channels) on strategic alignment of all social media programs

• Development of social media content production best practice in collaboration with content creators (int/ext) for Vivid Sydney

• Facilitate training sessions, webinars and stakeholder meetings to advance social media capability for the NSW tourism industry.

• Identify and flag consumer-facing reputational risks on Vivid Sydney social channels to Executive Team

• Lead the Social Media Intelligence program including the effective expansion of social listening and reporting platforms

• Identify and implement new optimisation and social innovation activities to advance capability and paid social media performance through consultation with staff, agencies and publishers. Improve the amplification of insights and learnings

• Build strong working relationships with key agencies and social media partners including Facebook to deliver partnership plan initiatives

• Ad hoc social projects including research and reporting requests with key business units (such as Partnerships, Research and Communications) as required by Marketing Directors or GM Consumer Marketing.



QUALIFICATIONS

• Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, and/or Social Media or Communications or other relevant field or equivalent relevant experience



EXPERIENCE

• At least 4 years’ experience in a social media management role ideally working within a Government agency, or with top tier DTC consumer brands.

• Experience in copywriting, solid knowledge and understanding of social media marketing best practise and community management and guidelines for agencies, clients and technology suppliers.

• Demonstrated experience in the functional side of social media channels including hands on managing multiple social media platforms

• Demonstrated experience in paid social media strategy, planning and execution in collaboration with campaign managers and media agencies.

• Experience in managing event marketing and strong project management and communication skills

• Excellent experience in producing engaging, high performing social creative and content and comfortable managing a digital content editorial process with creators and agency partners

• Strong understanding and working knowledge of tourism social marketing



SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Superior communication skills and experience in writing briefs and reports.

• A strong appreciation for social media best practice and using a test and learn approach

• Extensive experience curating engaging consumer centric digital experiences

• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and effectively manage a variety of stakeholders.

• Negotiation and facilitation skills, including the capability to initiate, create and use innovative thinking to help the agency and stakeholders reach their objectives

• Self-motivated and efficient, with ability to work autonomously as well as contribute to a creative, enthusiastic team environment

• Experience using enterprise Social Media Management platform (Sprinklr preferred but not required)
