At Swinburne we are scaling our Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program to ensure all our students benefit from closer connections between the world of work and the world of study. You will bring your expert knowledge of WIL and employment, and strategic focus to develop co-created industry experience opportunities for our students that are of mutual benefit to new and existing partners in the corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors.

In this pivotal role,

you will act as an ambassador for employer-partnered offerings with Swinburne and drive robust stakeholder-designed services to maximise industry engagement with Swinburne’s WIL and employability programs to enhance students’ and graduates’ employment outcomes.

The role reports to Director, Employability and you will lead a team of professional staff who work with both external and internal stakeholders to deliver the University’s student employment and recruitment services, and business development and partner stewardship to support our WIL and employment offerings, to position the University as a talent pipeline of choice.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

- A postgraduate qualification and extensive relevant leadership experience; or extensive management experience and proven management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

- Demonstrated stakeholder management experience, with the proven ability and confidence to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders including industry, community, and external in a business development context

- Demonstrated leadership experience, combined with the proven ability to exercise considerable expertise and initiative, and assume responsibility for the development and implementation of strategies and/or major initiatives and projects

- Demonstrated people management experience, including the ability to lead and manage staff in a supportive and collegial manner, and foster innovation and collaboration.

- Extensive tertiary education experience in stakeholder-centered practice for employability delivery, building a culture of scalable, personalised, digitally supported student experiences
