ATCO's Australian operations are headquartered in Perth, Western Australia and specialise in creating innovative, customer focused energy and infrastructure solutions. ATCO owns and operates Western Australia's largest gas distribution network with more than 750,000 connection points and 14,000km of pipelines.

ATCO is looking for a permanent Management Accountant to be based in Jandakot. The preferred candidate will work closely with the operational teams providing the financial acumen and support to assist in the safe and efficient operation of ATCO’s gas network.

What you will contribute to:

- Utilise detailed understanding of operational activities to provide insight through monthly reporting,

analysis and commentary to operational managers and group financial reporting by job/project stream/operations/corporate cost centres in line with business requirements.

- Ownership and financial support, analysis and advice to business managers and other employees in accordance with the Finance policies, standards, business rules and best practice.

- Review and delivery of month end processing including undertaking analysis to determine any miss-allocation of costs or revenue in reporting periods or profit/cost centres in line with monthly review process and required timeframes.

- Lead the budgeting/forecasting process of profit/cost centres including engagement and gathering of intelligence from business and corporate operations identifying and providing a detailed understanding of variance analysis and key business trends.

- Engage with operational managers on a monthly basis to develop and share key drivers of the financial performance and to update the future forecasts.

- Ownership and responsibility for the direct and indirect cost allocation methodologies adopted and applied at ATCO Gas Australia including quarterly review of the indirect costs allocated to OPEX & CAPEX including calculation and review of labour rates.

- Ensure cost centres are developed and maintained to meet the requirements of the business.

- Undertake effective and informative analysis and reviews of cost recoveries and expenses to ensure operational expenditure budgets are not exceeded and any variations are addressed.

About you:

- University degree qualification in Finance or Commerce.

- Membership of either CPA or CA.

- Proactively seek opportunities for process improvement and value creation.

- Commercially astute with the ability to develop and effectively communicate commercial issues and solutions to various stakeholders.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) including the ability to build, influence and maintain networks with a range of stakeholders.

- Experience in budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, financial reporting systems and preparing reports.

- Excellent computer skills including the ability to utilise a range of information systems (demonstrated knowledge of MS Excel & SAP).

- Knowledge and understanding of construction, maintenance and operations of infrastructure networks (gas is desirable) and the Australian utility and industrial market place is preferable.
