- HEO3 per annum plus up to 17% superannuation

- Based at the Melbourne (Bundoora) campus

About the role

La Trobe Sport is a business unit within La Trobe University tasked with the strategic goal of developing La Trobe to be the University of choice for Sport in Australia.

The primary purpose of this position is to support the Health & Fitness Coordinator to facilitate the delivery and operations of engaging Health & Fitness related programs across University sporting infrastructure that enhance the customer experience.

Responsibilities will entail a very hands on and operational approach, they’ll include:

- Organising and supporting internal and external activities,

recording all information ensuring all events and activities are administered efficiently

- Providing guidance and support to casual staff, working collaboratively in order to maintain operational effectiveness

- Planning and prioritising own work tasks, to ensure all activities/events run to schedule and all program/bookings requirements are met

- Creating and ensuring efficient timetables for all exercise classes making changes and re coordinating as required

- Assisting staff & students with their accounts/apps in order to have successful bookings

- Receive and respond to enquiries from/to customers, including general queries, judging when to forward them on to or involve others, to provide a courteous and effective service

The Health and Fitness Supervisor will be required to work outside regular work hours on a rotating roster and dependent on sport facility bookings

Skills & Experience

To be successful you will have:

- Good organisational and time management skills including ability to prioritise, work independently and as part of a team and work well under pressure.

- Good communication skills, including verbal, written, listening, interpreting and nonverbal skills

- Capability with relevant systems, equipment, processes and procedures.

- Training and/or experience in group fitness, strength and conditioning (ASCA), yoga, Pilates and/or boxing

- A flexible attitude to work and an ability to accommodate and adapt to change


- Sport & exercise degree
