The Inside Sales Specialist is responsible for execution of the ALCON Vision Care strategic plan within a defined territory in a remote capacity. Primary responsibilities include utilising digital technologies to execute on the Alcon selling model, territory management, and business planning capabilities to execute our strategies in the Optometry channel to maximise sales performance.



The Inside Sales Specialist will implement programs and strategies to assist Optometry practices in growing both their Contact Lenses and Dry Eye Portfolio.

Through Lead Generation the Inside Sales Specialist will work closely with the Business Development Managers within their region to define, develop and implement the long term strategy of the channel.





Sales Performance



- Meet overall sales objectives both overall and for key growth products via demand generation within targeted geography using remote technology to engage customers

- Successfully launch new product and service offerings

- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external business partners to create custom, long-term relationships that generate multi-year revenue streams

- Develop and execute a call cycle at the account and optometry level that delivers the optimal level reach/frequency.

- Ability to learn and understand customer specific operating procedures





Selling Skills, Technical Knowledge, and Customer Value Delivery



- Consistently demonstrate the Alcon selling model

- Consistently build and demonstrate technical knowledge, verbal fluency, and optometry practice expertise

- Build effective relationships with and service all targeted customers / personnel to ensure you maintain and grow relevance and access within each account.

- Interact with customers following all Alcon promotional guidelines.



Territory Management and Teamwork



- Develop and execute a Territory Business Plan per our expectations

- Utilise our Customer Relationship Management system to capture all insights and activities

- Conduct quarterly business reviews with NSM and routinely adjust the strategies, tactics, and investments based on changing needs to maximise territory performance.

- Meet field activity expectations including sales call activity



Organisational Relationships



- Ability to work in a cross-functional team-based environments

- Align with and influence internal (Alcon employees) and external (Alcon customers) stakeholders.

- Adept at working in highly fluid, complex, and ever changing environments.



Qualifications and Experience



- Bachelor of Business, Commerce and/or Marketing

- Previous sales experience in channels with Healthcare professionals – Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices or other / similar

- Success in previous roles including creatively finding opportunities or solving problems to drive sales performance.

- Uses analytics and insights to enhance decision-making and tactical execution.

- Follow-through and attention to detail.

- Professional demeanour and presentation style.

- Highly focused and results oriented, able to identify and manage goals and priorities.

- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a close team environment

- Technology – MS Office, Salesforce.com, Pitcher
