About the role

Being an integral member of the management team,
this position will be based in Rockhampton covering multiple concrete plants within your region; however you will be required to travel to other sites in the region under your responsibility on a regular basis.
As an Area Operations Manager (AOM) you will be responsible for managing the safe, efficient and cost effective operations of a number of concrete plants in the area, with a focus on maximising the performance of people, plant and fleet to meet Holcim operational standards while delivering the required customer service standards. The AOM has the responsibility for driving operational excellence and achieving objectives, while assisting the other business functions accomplish successful commercial outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure safety standards are met through strong people leadership
- Manage the daily operations with a focus on improvement
- Drive customer relationships to ensure suitable outcomes
- Control costs across plant and fleet
- Demonstrate effective leadership to ensure a highly motivated team.
- Manage, develop, coach and support production supervisors, production officers, company drivers and other plant staff in the
- To work closely with the Concrete Manager and other function to achieve the efficient and cost effective operation at all sites, that meets customer service requirements etc
- To engage with all plant staff and drivers and provide strong leadership in the areas of health and safety, the environment, operations management, cost management and operational improvement.
Skills & Experience
- Leadership roles in production and manufacturing related fields
- Well-developed leadership and team building skills
- Strong team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of the importance of and ability to effectively communicate and build relationships within the relevant Concrete business and across the wider Holcim business
- Experience in SAP, Excel, Word
