About the Opportunity



Council is seeking applicants with an adaptable, ‘can do’ attitude and self-initiative as well as experience in delivering high quality customer service. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.



Within this role you may be requested to work at any of Cumberland Council’s staffed community centres. Casual work is not regular work and will fluctuate, depending on operational requirements and your availability and flexibility, mostly during business hours. Some after hours or weekend work may be available.



This role is responsible for:



- Performing a range of facilities management tasks related to operational and maintenance issues, bookings and general administration, marketing and promotion, general housekeeping and centre upkeep, community liaison and supporting onsite programs and hirers

- Delivering a variety of customer service functions and providing community and Council information

- Responding autonomously and proactively to the unique needs of each community facility, using problem-solving skills.



The successful applicant will require (but not limited to):



- Qualifications in community services, social sciences, customer service, administration, facilities or sports and recreation

- High level communication and interpersonal skills

- High level administrative and computer skills

- Demonstrated problem solving skills, including a high level of initiative

- Demonstrated experience in working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and strong cross cultural skills

- Ability to work a flexible and fluctuating roster based on the needs of Council and its community facilities and programming commitments.

Salary:  Employment is in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award. This position is placed in Grade 8 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $33.93 to $39.02 per hour, plus 25% casual loading and superannuation.



The commencement salary will depend upon the successful applicant's qualifications, experience and competencies.



Conditions of Employment:  This is a casual position, and will work across Council's network of staffed community centres and administration centres.
