About the role: This role is based at a prison and involves direct contact with prisoners (students). This position is full time, requires 38 hours, 5 days a week attendance and includes teaching duties in related courses. The Site Education Manager is responsible for the delivery of quality education at all of the prison sites that Box Hill Institute delivers education to. The primary function is to ensure that all students in all sites receive an education experience that replicates the experience of students at Box Hill Institutes other campuses as well as providing opportunities for self-paced learning via Moodle that are integral to every course. In order to do this,

a significant function of the Site Education Manager’s role is collaboration with their colleagues at other prison sites where BHI provides services as well as in BHI’s mainstream Educational Delivery. The Site Education Manager is responsible for managing the staff at the site they are assigned to ensure that each staff member actively contributes to the goals of that site. This position is responsible for daily operations and working collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure that the site achieves set benchmarks. Site Education Managers are based at the prison they manage. This video has been produced by Corrections Victoria and is about careers as a prison officer. This role is different because it is a Site Education Manager and the incumbent will be employed by Box Hill Institute, however the video will give you some insight into working in a prison - &feature;=emb_logo. Site Education Managers are also required to attend other prisons, campuses and regularly attend Box Hill Institute’s Elgar Road Campus in Box Hill for meetings, professional development and other activities. Your skills and experience: Qualifications • A tertiary qualification in Business Management, Education Management or equivalent. • A minimum Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is essential, Diploma of Vocational Education and Training preferred. Expertise People Management: Demonstrated experience in managing and mentoring staff to achieve quality outcomes in defined timeframes. Translates project strategies into meaningful objectives, builds team commitment by demonstrating personal conviction and delegating responsibilities appropriately, motivates others to achieve outcomes. Vocational Education Expertise: Significant experience in developing and leading others to deliver innovative nationally accredited training programs that meet contractual requirements, the needs of learners, excellent standards in academic quality and all regulatory requirements. Program Delivery: Demonstrated experience in an operational management role within a related sector that includes success in balancing delivery of high quality academic programs with meeting KPI’s. Influence and Negotiation: Proven success in building collaborative relationships with key stakeholders that enable the individual to successfully influence and negotiate for the resources to meet an organisations goals. Customer Service: Demonstrated ability to work with multiple clients to balance competing priorities and achieve the outcomes requested by all stakeholders. Drive and Commitment: Energetic, innovative and resilient with demonstrable capacity to balance competing priorities and thrive in a consistently changing environment. This position requires the ability to drive innovation whilst mentoring staff so that they are enthusiastic, confident and engaged. Technical Skills: Must be highly proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and online meeting platforms (). Must be proficient in the use of online learning platforms with knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn Moodle.
