What will your typical day look like?
You will develop an impressive range of commercial consulting skills that will multiply your career options. Benefiting from client exposure and learning from the top practitioners in the field, you will be involved throughout the lifecycle of some of the largest, most complex and high-profile deals in Australia and internationally.
You will grow and develop yourself in providing advice to Deloitte’s vast portfolio of clients – from private,
international and national corporations to private equity firms – in the assessment of potential merger synergies and carve-outs, and stand-alone performance improvements.
You will help them realise the true strategic and operational capability of acquisitions. This will have you involved in planning and implementing integration and separation projects as the result of M&A; activity.
As a Senior Consultant you will also:
Perform financial analysis and due diligence for the proposed transaction
Prepare acquisition / carve out business cases for review by key stakeholders
Develop and deliver integration or separation strategies to extract maximum value from the transaction
Support the development of key transaction documents e.g. Transitional Service Agreements, executive board reports and papers addressing certain strategic issues
Assist with the execution of the transaction, including blueprinting and Day-1 (Completion) readiness planning
Provide programme management support on our engagements
Engage with colleagues and client senior management to assist with the completion of actions, management of risks and issues and facilitation of decision making to fulfil programme objectives and deliverables
Develop your consulting skills in strategic thinking, programme and change management
Work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution
About the team
We know that Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A;) are a huge deal for businesses, so whether the focus is on growth through acquisitions or increasing shareholder value through strategic divestments, we support clients from start to finish. Our M&A; Integration and Separation team focus on deal execution and implementation, as well as due diligence and pre-deal analysis. We provide end-to-end support for our clients during sell-side separations and buy-side integrations, with a focus on increasing growth and value. Join our like-minded and supportive team in navigating clients through complex deal processes.

You are someone with:
Previous programme management experience on complex/large projects, ideally from a leading corporate institution or consulting firm
Familiarity with the broader deal-oriented process and environment
Excellent financial and analytical skills
Pragmatic commercial acumen – able to identify risks and develop solutions to manage those risks, with the ability and willingness to deal with ambiguity and change
Articulate communication and confident presentation skills
Natural aptitude to problem solving
Experience of change management and transformation initiatives e.g. technology or business process changes is desirable but not essential
Ideally Bachelor’s degree or post graduate qualification
