Full time Contract/Temp Role for 5 months commencing 18 January 2021


This mid-sized CBD based firm specialises in commercial and property law, local government and environmental related matters. Its origins in this sector are long established and the practice has a highly respected reputation for its legal expertise in these issues.


The firm is seeking to appoint a bright, dynamic individual to cover a staff member’s maternity leave. This is a Contract Temporary role commencing 18th January 2021 with a duration of 5 month.

This is a varied and busy role providing secretarial support to Partners and Solicitors in the Planning and Local Government team.

The primary functions of the role are:

Preparation of Court documents and filing for LEC and occasionally other jurisdictions

Preparation of Advices

Preparation of Briefs to Counsel and Experts

Typing documents and correspondence including dictation work.

Liaising with clients, experts and barristers

Filing and archiving

Diary management

Preparation of monthly invoices

Other administrative tasks


The successful candidate will have:

A minimum of 2 years’ secretarial experience, preferably legal (however a less experienced, exceptional candidate will be considered)

Experience drafting court documents

Experience drafting briefs and other large documents - both in hard copy and electronic formats

Advanced Word, Outlook and Excel skills

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills

Superior organisational skills

Strong attention to detail

A typing speed of at least 65 wpm

Knowledge of LexisNexis Affinity would be an advantage.


Remuneration is negotiable and will be based on the experience and capability of the successful candidate.
