The clinician will need a passion to explore and provide support around the psychosocial issues affecting children with a developmental disability and their families.<p> <p style="font-family:Arial"><strong>Employment Type<strong>: Temporary Full Time and Part Time roles available until 4 April 2021<br > <strong>Position Classification<strong>: Social Worker Level 3<br > <strong>Remuneration<strong>: $50.51 - $52.20 per hour<br > <strong>Hours Per Week<strong>: 38<br > <strong>Requisition ID<strong>: REQ195972<br > <br > <strong>Where you'll be working<strong><p> <p style="font-family:Arial">The Child Development Service (CDS) is a tertiary multidisciplinary Diagnostic Assessment service for preschool aged children with complex developmental problems. It is the Northern Sydney component of the NSW grid for tertiary diagnostic assessment of children with developmental disabilities. It is a community paediatric service located on the RNSH grounds, with psychologists, social workers and therapists in the immediate team.<p> <p style="font-family:Arial">CDS works co-operatively with Child & Youth Mental Health, Community Allied Health Therapists, Child Protection Counselling service, Child Youth and Family Health Services. Our focus is on developmental and behavioural disorders, their co-morbidities and the psychosocial factors impacting the family. The service works alongside the Department of Family and Community Services, Department of Education, various NGO’s and private practitioners.<p> <p style="font-family:Arial"><br > <strong>What you'll be doing<strong><p> <div> <p style="font-family:Arial">You will be one of 3 Social Workers, working within our integrated team of medical, psychological and therapy clinicians. Your role is to help families to access our service, support them through their journey with our service, and ensure they are connected to mainstream and specialised services in the community. The focus is to help set the foundations so that children with complex developmental issues and their families, are empowered to reach their potential and that our service is working seamlessly with relevant external services. <p> <p style="font-family:Arial"> <p> <p style="font-family:Arial">Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:<p> <div> <div> <div style="font-size:10pt"> <ol> <li> <p style="font-family:Arial">Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.<p> <li> <li> <p style="font-family:Arial">A Bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Evidence of clinical experience, inclusive of experience as a Level 2 Social Worker or equivalent.<p> <li> <li> <p style="font-family:Arial">Provide evidence of proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to liaise with novice and experienced health professionals and external service providers. Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems.<p> <li> <li> <p style="font-family:Arial">Demonstrated skills in providing best practice, quality improvement activities and service development.<p> <li> <li> <p style="font-family:Arial">Comprehensive knowledge and proficient social work skills pertaining to Paediatric Developmental Disability, grief and loss, and trauma informed practice. A strong commitment to an evidence-based service to provide for consumers, carers and families requiring assessment, case management, intervention, appropriate referral and discharge planning.<p> <li> <li> <p style="font-family:Arial">Demonstrated proficiency to work within a multidisciplinary team and autonomously. Skillfully prioritise time, manage a demanding workload, apply high level reasoning skills and have independent professional judgement.<p> <li> <li> <p style="font-family:Arial">Comprehensive understanding of various paediatric and disability sector services as well as atypical child development.<p> <li> <li> <p style="font-family:Arial">Current driver’s licence.<p> <li> <ol> <div> <p style="font-family:Arial"> <p> <div style="font-size:10pt"> <p style="font-family:Arial">
