Spices29 Goan Indian Restaurant is a new business aiming to give complete satisfaction to our valued patrons with the actual flavors of Spices.(Its all about the flavors and not the Heat)

We are aiming to satisfy our customers with a whole hearted welcome feel at home.

29 depicts the 29 states of India. We have put our menu together keeping in mind the delicacies in the different states of India.

We are also introducing Goan Cuisine on the Central coast. Goan Cuisine is a fusion of Indian and Portuguese Cuisine.

About the role

The Chef will be responsible for curating a new menu & building up our already existing small team. Our aim is to offer one of the best culinary experiences in the Regional Area of WOY WOY.

The position of Chef is responsible for the daily, hands-on operations of the kitchen to ensure food items are prepared according to standards of quality,

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: train, develop and maintain employee skills, menu planning/costing inventory, plate presentation, ordering and employee scheduling. Organisation, cost & product control are key in addition to ensuring the kitchen meets all health department standards for safe food handling.

The Chef must have strong leadership skills, willing to lead by example and have the ability to work independently.

Qualifications include previous relevant experience, a degree/diploma . from a culinary arts training program or equivalent life experience preferably in a high-end dining establishment. This position requires scheduling flexibility to include working nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Benefits and perks

Located next to the Woy Woy Train Station and close Shopping mall and the river front.

Area comes under regional NSW and eligible for RSMS.

Salary $ 55,000 to $60,000 anually

Skills and experience


Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities

Modify menus or create new ones

Estimate food requirements and food/labor costs

Supervise kitchen staff's activities

Recruit and manage kitchen staff

Rectify arising problems or complaints

Perform administrative duties

Comply with regulations and safety standards

Keep time and payroll records

Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers


Proven working experience as a head chef

Excellent record of kitchen management

Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently

Capable of delegating multiple tasks

Communication and leadership skills

Keep up with cooking trends and best practices
