TRRH.<strong><u><p> <p style="font-family:Arial; text-align:justify">This important role provides strategic leadership and planning to the paediatrics department, and will lead the team in service development, clinical practice improvement and quality and safety initiatives within paediatrics and newborn services. The role combines clinical and management duties, and you will be joining a team of 6 highly experienced clinicians. Whilst the preference is for a 1.0FTE appointment, a fractional appointment will be considered.<p> <p style="font-family:Arial; text-align:justify">Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, with 282 beds is the largest healthcare facility in NSW outside the Sydney-Wollongong-Newcastle metropolis. Our Paediatric and Adolescent Inpatient Unit provides services to children in the New England, North West & Upper Hunter area and is the major referral centre for the northern sector of HNELHD. The Paediatric Unit has 18 beds with over 2600 admissions per year accommodating babies, toddlers, children and adolescents up to age 18. The typical inpatient caseload consists of paediatric medical and general surgical cases. This includes orthopaedics, ophthalmology, dental, gastroenterology, endocrinology, oncology and mental health admissions. The paediatric unit has two overnight bedrooms attached to the ward, these are used to accommodate a parent or carer of a child. Ronald McDonald House, located on the Hospital campus also offers accommodation for parents or carers from outlying rural communities. The Tamworth Hospital Paediatric outpatient clinic sees an approximate of 5000 patients annually. Visiting subspecialty outreach clinics from JHCH include Paediatric Surgery, Endocrinology, Neurology, Brain Injury, RespiratoryCF, Haematology-oncology, Cleft palate, Immunology, Rehabilitation, Neonatal follow up, Cardiac and Out of Home Care. We boast a strong experienced community allied health team providing developmental assessments and specialty clinics. Tamworth Hospital is a Level 4 Obstetric Unit with 1000 births per year; Level 3 nursery that provides step-down care from the NICU at John Hunter Children’s Hospital; an 8 theatre operating complex (5 in current operation) and outpatient clinic centre.<p> <p style="font-family:Arial; text-align:justify"><strong>Tamworth is a dynamic and progressive city boasting lifestyle, education and employment opportunities the envy of its city counterparts.
