The Opportunity We are seeking a QC Microbiology Team Leader to join our dynamic team in our Quality Control function in Parkville (Australia). This role is a full time 12 month maternity leave replacement and the focus of the role is to lead and maintain a team within Quality Control for environmental monitoring, systems checks and/or bacteriology testing. You will be responsible for scheduling and completing QC testing to an agreed plan and drive process improvements and ensure GMP compliance. The Role Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, your responsibilities will include: Coordinate the testing of QC Microbiology assays and review and communicate results Lead a team of 5-10 direct reports Coordinate the preparation, review and approval of relevant QC documentation Conduct the training of QC staff on approved procedures as required Ensure processes and procedures are conducted in accordance with approved procedures Complete and conduct appropriate investigations and ensure that appropriate action is taken when Out of Specification (OOS), invalid assays or unusual data is observed Identify and communicate issues that may cause delay to service performance Risk manage operational activities through internal audit and review process Actively seek, recommend and implement improvements to minimise cost and maximise efficiency Ensure inventory of all product stored in the QC Facility is maintained Ensure the CSL health and safety procedures and business policies are followed Skills and Experience The successful candidate must have: Tertiary qualification in Microbiology or related discipline Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in management of a production or quality area Strong technical understanding of Pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or testing processes Knowledge of cGMP regulations and Quality Management Systems Demonstrated ability to lead teams of people to achieve an outcome Excellent communication skills Strong problem solving skills, interpersonal and organisational skills How to apply If this sounds like you and you are looking to further develop your skills and shape the health of Australians, please apply with your resume and cover letter, which must address the selection criteria above, and include the reference number R-124542.
