Position details


We are seeking a highly motivated Education Assistant with a desire to be a part of a dynamic teaching and learning community who is passionate about helping children learn in a fun and safe environment.

Loreto Nedlands is a single stream Independent Catholic co-educational primary school for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year Six. The variety and depth of the school's education program offers students opportunities to develop their gifts and talents and reach their full potential. Loreto has specialist Numeracy, Literacy, Science, Physical Education, Arts and Music teachers. The wellbeing policy, the Loreto Blossoming Policy,

fosters a supportive environment whereby students are encouraged to recognise and use their character strengths to work towards achieving challenging goals. Our committed staff provide a collaborative and supportive learning and teaching environment centered on Gospel values. The students’ imagination and creativity is developed in the early years with the focus on play based education. The Literacy program is enhanced by the Loreto Young Writers’ Awards, Loreto Speaker of the Year, Debating and Oracy Examinations. The school has a proud tradition in the Performing Arts including class music lessons, individual tuition, choir, orchestra, ensembles, Junior and Senior Musicals and creative dance. The Loreto charism develops the qualities of freedom, justice, sincerity, verity and felicity.

Selection Criteria:


- A commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education and a willingness to promote and support Catholic values of our school and Parish Community.

- The ability to work with flexibility while demonstrating initiative.

- Enthusiastic and positive


- Have previous experience in working as an Education Assistant within a school.

- Have a proven ability to work in a collaborative environment as a member of a team.

- Be able to assist with the development of community amongst staff, students and parents.

- Have demonstrated the capacity to relate easily and professionally with students, parents and staff.

Qualifications Required:

- Certificate III in Education Support or similar qualifications

- Undergo mandatory reporting training

- Acquire and/or maintain relevant Accreditation requirements to work in a Catholic School

- Be prepared to sit an English and Maths competency test
